Business rules govern every automated decision the platform makes — from pricing a quote to determining whether ADAS calibration is mandatory. All rules are version-controlled in the codebase and require a Product + Engineering sign-off to change.
Quote Calculation Formula
Every quote is computed deterministically using the following formula:

ADAS Calibration Rules
Safety-Critical Rule: ADAS calibration is mandatory and non-negotiable whenever a windshield replacement affects a vehicle with a forward-facing camera (ADAS-equipped). Skipping calibration exposes the company to liability under FMVSS 126 (ESC) and NHTSA enforcement. The system will block work order completion if calibration is not logged.

Safe Drive-Away Time (SDAT)
After windshield installation, the urethane adhesive must cure before the vehicle is safe to drive. The platform calculates SDAT and prints it on the work order and customer receipt.

Seasonal Override: During winter months (Nov–Mar in northern states), the system automatically defaults to 2-hour SDAT minimums regardless of urethane type. Technicians cannot override this in the app without manager PIN approval.

Warranty Rules
- Lifetime workmanship warranty on all labor — any leak, rattle, or installation defect is fixed at no charge, tracked by VIN
- 1-year manufacturer warranty on OEM glass; 6-month warranty on aftermarket glass for chips and defects
- ADAS calibration warranty — 90-day guarantee that calibration meets OEM spec, verified via calibration certificate
- Warranty is voided by subsequent damage, non-standard glass modifications, or documented customer-caused damage
